$2,000 will be awarded by the American Sheep Industry Women (junior and senior winners). $1,000 will be awarded by the Mohair Council of America (junior or senior award for a complete garment made of mohair). $1,000 will be awarded by the Pendleton Woolen Mills (junior winner). $1,000 will be awarded by American Wool Council (fashion/apparel design) All awards are offered annually and are non-renewable.
Four awards offered annually. Please note: Scholarships are only awarded at the national level. Fabrics, sewing books, equipment and notions are awarded at state and national levels. State winners at the junior and senior levels advance to the national competition. Past national junior and senior winners may not compete again in the same age division.
The categories are as follows: preteens, ages 12 and under; juniors, ages 13 to 16; seniors, ages 17 to 24; adults, ages 25 and older; and 'Made for Others' (any age). The ages are as of Dec. 31 of the current year. All categories may not be available in each state.
