Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be a 18 years of age or older.
  4. Must plan to pursue an advanced pilot rating.
  5. Must reside within 99 miles of the Reno International Airport.

Application requirements for the Reno High Sierra Chapter Ninety-Nines Advanced Rating Scholarship are:

Additional Information: A qualified applicant will be notified to schedule an interview time.

Award Amount: $3,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $3,000.

Applications are available online from the Reno High Sierra 99s website. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit his/her pilot certificate, valid medical certificate appropriate to advanced rating applying for, the last three pages of her logbook with proof of flight currency (which must have been completed in the past 12 months), three recommendation letters, and responses to the nine questions within the application. The applicant must submit an original plus four copies of all materials. Applications and supporting materials must be received by deadline.
