Number of Awards & Eligibility: Nine scholarships are awarded every year to incoming freshmen attending universities in Texas.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a citizen of the United States and provide proof of citizenship.
  2. Must graduate from a high school in Texas.
  3. Must attend an accredited Texas college or university; no online degree programs.
  4. Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 per semester on a 4.0 scale each semester (not cumulative) of each academic year to remain eligible.
  5. Must take a minimum of 12 hours per semester.
  6. Must be a graduating high school senior or first time undergraduate student.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: Students do not have to participate in the TBGA to be eligible for these scholarships, but those who have entered the Texas Big Game Awards will receive a preference point during the scoring process. Recipients must be able to attend their Regional TBGA Banquet in order to receive their scholarship.

Additional Information: All applicants must be Agriculture and/or Natural Resource related majors. Scholarships are open to any graduating high school senior, entering college freshman, sophomore, or junior.

Award Amount: Eight at $1,500 each (that is one per Region) and one overall top scholarship at $3,000.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $15,000.
