Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  4. Must enroll as a college senior or graduate student in the upcoming academic year. The applicant must be a non-CPA.
  5. Must be a resident of Illinois.
  6. Must attend an Illinois institution.
  7. Must be a woman.
  8. Must demonstrate a course of study that reflects her plan to sit for the CPA Exam within three years after application.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: Illinois women who attend an Illinois institution and plan to sit for the CPA exam within three years are eligible for this award. Students must be college seniors or graduate students and have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Additional Information: This scholarship was established by the Illinois CPA Society Women’s Executive Committee to create advancement opportunities for women in the CPA profession in Illinois. This scholarship program is supported by individuals, CPA firms, and companies who are committed to giving back to help ensure the success of other women. A lead donor to this scholarship program is Ernst & Young LLP. If the student receives a full-tuition waiver of reimbursement for tuition, he/she is not eligible for this scholarship. However, the society highly encourages a student to apply if he/she is unsure of other forms of support at the time of his/her application. Applicants must demonstrate leadership potential and financial need. A recipient must plan to sit for the CPA Examination of Illinois within three years of application date and demonstrate a course of study that reflects this goal.

Award Amount: Up to $4,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $4,000.

Applications are available online from the Illinois CPA Society website. In addition to the completed application, each student must submit his/her most recent academic transcript, a resume, two letters of recommendation, and two essays of no more than 150 words on the topics listed within the application. The applicant may complete an optional essay detailing his/her special circumstances. All materials must be submitted by the deadline date.
