Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be a member in good standing of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA).
  4. Must have participated in a professional internship between September 2015 and August 2016.
  5. Must be pursuing a major in public relations.
  6. Must be currently enrolled in college to apply for this undergraduate award.

Description: This scholarship is available for a current U.S. college student who is a member of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) and has participated in a professional internship during September to August in the year following application.

Additional Information: The applicant must have completed a professional internship between September and August following the application deadline. This award was established to honor a PRSSA member who has achieved outstanding success in a public relations internship. Its purpose is to recognize a student who demonstrates outstanding academic excellence in public relations and who has demonstrated a strong practical performance in the field. The recipient will receive his/her monetary award and a formal national certificate at the PRSSA National Conference during the annual awards ceremony. The winner's internship supervisor will also be awarded a certificate to recognize support of public relations students.

Award Amount: $300 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $300.

Applications are available on the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) website. In addition to the completed application (typed), the following materials must be submitted: a typed 1,000- to 1,200-word report describing the applicant's internship experience and addressing the seven objectives listed on the application; and two letters of recommendation, one from the applicant's intership supervisor and the other from the applicant's PRSSA faculty advisor. The completed application and supporting materials must be submitted online by the deadline date.
