Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must major in journalism, marketing/communications, or healthcare administration (scholarship not for clinical study).
  3. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  4. Must be a resident of Nassau County or Suffolk County, New York.
  5. Must have demonstrated community service and campus leadership.
  6. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  7. Must presently be a college junior, senior, or graduate student.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available to U.S. college juniors, seniors, and graduate students who are studying journalism, marketing/communications, or healthcare administration. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and demonstrated community service and leadership.

Additional Information: This tribute honors the memory of the late vice president for government and public relations of the Nassau-Suffolk Hospital Council, a professional organization which represents the 24 Long Island-based nonprofit and public hospitals. Ann Marie was a high-profiled leader, committed advocate, and respected professional. This award was established to perpetuate her principles and interests. The award will be presented at the annual awards luncheon and meeting of the Communications Committee. The recipient is expected to attend this luncheon.

Award Amount: $2,000 annually, non-renewable. The recipient will also be offered the opportunity for an optional internship.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.

Applications are available on the Nassau-Suffolk Hospital Council website. In addition to the completed application, the applicant must submit the following materials: a copy of college transcripts (student copies are acceptable); a two-page, double-spaced essay with an introduction and description of future goals; and two letters of recommendation from college professors and/or community service leaders.Completed applications must be submitted to Janine Logan via email of a single .pdf document to the address provider or mail to the address provided. Applications must be received by 5:00 p.m. EST on the deadline date.
