Michigan Accountancy Foundation
Up to $3,000 annually, non-renewable. Scholarships may be used for tuition and fees, with continuous enrollment. Funding will be disbursed directly to the applicant's college or university.
15 awards offered annually. The number of awards varies each year depending on the amount of available funding.
The application evaluation will begin in early February. The Scholarship Review Board (SRB) will review each complete application submission for compliance with the stated criteria, which will be considered objectively and subjectively, with the intention to fund the best-qualified applicants. The following criteria will be considered in the evaluation process: single-parent status, physically challenged, self-supporting student status, financial need, and minority status. In some instances, because of donor restrictions, consideration will be given to the school attended by the recipient. A recommendation from the SRB will be made to the Trustees of the Michigan Accountancy Foundation (MAF). Once the Trustees have approved an applicant for funding, a letter will be sent to that applicant indicating the judgment of the Trustees and the next steps in securing funding. Recipients will be notified by March for funding beginning in May. Applicants who were not selected may reapply for the next evaluation cycle, if applicable. Decisions made by MAF Board of Trustees are final.
