Number of Awards & Eligibility: 13 awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must major in business.
  3. Must be a resident of Hawaii.
  4. Must attend school at any University of Hawaii campus, excluding Manoa.
  5. Must plan to attend an accredited two- or four-year college or university as a full-time student (12 credits per semester for undergraduate; 9 credits per semester for graduate).
  6. Must demonstrate academic achievement with a grade point average of 2.7 or higher.
  7. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  8. Must be a high school senior or older to apply for this undergraduate and graduate award.

Description: This scholarship is available for Hawaii undergraduate and graduate students who attend school at any University of Hawaii campus, excluding Manoa. Students must major in business and have a grade point average of 2.7 or higher.

Additional Information: This scholarship was established by Oscar and Rosetta Fish who were committed to helping young people pursue higher education. Oscar was a member of the University of Hawai'i's College of Business Administration's first MBA graduating class in 1959. Rosetta was a speech teacher at UH Manoa. They met in Hawai'i and after living in several other places, returned to Hawai'i to retire. All applicants must demonstrate financial need and good moral character. Recipients will be notified after the scholarship selection committees meet, which could be any time between May and August.

Award Amount: $1,814 annually, non-renewable. Students may reapply each year.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $23,582.

Online application forms are available on the Hawai'i Community Foundation website. The student should visit the provider's website for detailed instructions on how to complete the online application. In addition to the online application form, the student must submit the following supporting materials: the printed confirmation page that is generated after applying online; a typed, double-spaced personal statement of two to three pages answering the questions listed onlne; an official copy of his/her most recent transcript; and a copy of his/her SAR (Student Aid Report). The SAR is obtained by filing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The FAFSA is available online, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. A student will not be able to submit his/her application until all required supporting documents are electronically attached to the application. Applications must be submitted by 4 p.m. HST on the deadline date.
