Number of Awards & Eligibility: 10 awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester OR a minimum of six credit hours per semester if employed full time.
  4. Must be pursuing a degree in one of the following fields: insurance, finance, accounting, business administration, marketing, or education.
  5. Must be an incoming or current undergraduate student.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available to U.S. undergraduate students who are majoring in insurance, finance/accounting, business administration, marketing, or education. Students must be enrolled in 12 or more credit hours per term, or six or more hours if employed full time.

  • Proof of citizenship
Additional Information: The SILA Foundation scholarships are competitive and awarded to qualified applicants based on the substance and value of the application information provided. The applications will be evaluated and approved by the SILA Foundation.

Award Amount: $2,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,500.

Applications are available online on the Securities and Insurance Licensing Association (SILA) Foundation website. Applications are accepted beginning April 1. In addition to a completed online application, each student must submit the following required documentation: a copy of a scholastic transcript proving the enrollment requirement; a copy of his/her high school transcript if a graduating senior (a copy of his/her enrollment schedule also required); a letter of reference; employment verification letter if he/she is employed full time; and proof of citizenship/permanent residency (i.e., copy of U.S. passport, copy of birth certificate, copy of state issued driver’s license, copy of USCIS Permanent Resident Card). Required documents should be emailed to the address provided by the deadline date. No late submissions will be accepted.
