Teachers of Accounting at Two-Year Colleges (TACTYC)

Number of Awards & Eligibility: multiple awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must have completed a minimum of 20 college semester credit hours, 6 of which must be in accounting, by the end of the current spring semester.
  4. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  5. Must be currently attending a two-year college as a full-time or part-time student with plans to continue at a two-year college (enrolling in six or more hours) for the 2016-2017 academic year.
  6. Must major in accounting.
  7. Must have made a commitment to a career in accounting.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is open to U.S. students who are currently enrolled in a two-year college pursuing a major in accounting and have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Students must have completed at least 20 college semester credit hours, at least 6 of which must be in accounting as of the end of the current spring semester, and plan to continue enrollment at their two-year college in the upcoming academic year.

Additional Information: Teachers of Accounting at Two Year Colleges was founded in 1974 by a group of innovative educators from the New York area. Since its creation, TACTYC's primary objective has been and continues to be the advancement of accounting education. Winners will be contacted by April 15. The official announcement will be made at the TACTYC conference in mid-May and will be posted to the TACTYC website around the first week of June.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable. Scholarship awards must be used during the academic year for which they are awarded or be forfeited.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $3,000.
