Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must enroll in college-level courses in business administration or business management.
  4. Must be pursuing an eligible undergraduate course of study.
  5. Must enroll part time or full time.
  6. First priority candidates are licensed professional land surveyors or certified photogrammetrists pursuing college-level courses. Second priority candidates are certified land survey interns pursuing college-level courses. Third priority candidates are full-time students enrolled in a two- or four-year degree program in surveying and mapping.

Additional Information: Please note: This scholarship is awarded in odd-numbered years only. Scholarships are awarded based on the following criteria: academic record, 30 percent; applicant's statement, 30 percent; letters of recommendation, 20 percent; professional activities, 20 percent. Degree of financial need will be used, if necessary, to break ties, after the primary criteria have been considered.

Award Amount: $2,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.

Applications are available on the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS) Foundation website. In addition to the completed application, the applicant must submit the following materials: a brief, yet complete, statement indicating educational objectives, future plans of study or research, professional activities, and financial need; three or more letters of recommendation (at least two from faculty members familiar with his/her work); a complete, original, official transcript through the end of the school year prior to when the award will be presented; and a copy of his/her unofficial transcript for the fall semester (as soon as it is available). Please note: The applicant must be a student member of the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS) to qualify for this award. The applicant may apply for membership in NSPS at the time of application. Additional information about joining NSPS is available online at www.nspsmo.org/nsps_memberinfo. The applicant should mail all materials in one envelope. Applications sent by fax or email will not be accepted. Incomplete or improperly completed applications will be discarded. Applications must arrive at NSPS headquarters no later than 5:00 p.m. EST on the deadline date. Late applications will not be accepted.
