Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a declared major in civil engineering.
  3. Must be a resident of Florida for tuition purposes.
  4. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  5. Must meet admission requirements and be accepted to the University of North Florida (UNF).
  6. Must plan to enroll full time (12 or more credit hours) each semester and earn a minimum of 24 credit hours by the end of the spring term.
  7. Must be accepted into the UNF College of Computing, Engineering & Construction at the junior or senior level.

Description: This scholarship is available for rising juniors and seniors at the University of North Florida who are majoring in civil engineering. Students must be Florida residents and have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Additional Information: The University of North Florida's School of Engineering and Department of Construction Management are proud to offer this scholarship sponsored by Prosser Hallock Tekie Foundation, Inc. Scholarship recipients must: maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or higher; remain in good standing as a student; comply with all University regulations, rules, and codes of conduct governing students on campus; and consent to release grades to the Division of Institutional Advancement for the purpose of reporting to the donor.

Award Amount: $1,000 per semester The amount of the award will be determined by the fund manager, but it cannot exceed the maximum cost of tuition, books, campus housing, meal plan, transportation and miscellaneous expenses, as reflected in the annual "Cost of Education" budget prepared by the UNF Financial Aid Office. Current recipients may apply for renewal and will be given preference pending availability of funding and if the applicant continues to meet all selection criteria and responsibilities. No student will be eligible to receive more than five semesters of scholarship support.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.

Applications are available online on the University of North Florida (UNF) College of Computing, Engineering & Construction (CCEC) website. As part of the online application, the student must submit short essay answers (300 characters or less) describing his/her career interests, extracurricular activities, and work experience. The scholarship application must be completed online and submitted by the deadline date. Only electronic applications will be considered.
