Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of Scholarships varies.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be pursuing a degree/field of study in one of the following categories: science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and business/entrepreneurship.
  2. Must be between the ages of 18 - 26 years of age on June 1, 2019 and must submit their application in English.
  3. Must be used at an accredited post-secondary institution seeking an undergraduate degree.
  4. Must be able to demonstrate admittance to an accredited post-secondary institution or have applied for admittance.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: WU Scholars, is a program designed to support young people and their efforts to pursue a post-secondary education. This Scholarship is open for students pursuing a degree/field of study in STEM or business/entrepreneurship. Selected scholarship recipients will receive USD $2,500 each to contribute toward tuition.

Application requirements for the Western Union Foundation Global Scholarship Program are:

  • Recommendation letter
  • Application form
  • Official Transcript.
Additional Information: The Western Union Foundation Global Scholarship Program, also referred to as WU Scholars, is a program designed to support young people and their efforts to pursue a post-secondary education. Selected scholarship recipients will receive USD $2,500 each to contribute toward tuition or school fees at an accredited post-secondary institution and will be selected based on criteria relating to the program's three pillars: Perseverance, Aspiration, and Community-Mindedness. The Institute of International Education, Inc. (IIE), a US non-profit, administers the program on behalf of the Western Union Foundation and its contributors.

Award Amount: Selected scholarship recipients will receive USD $2,500 each to contribute toward tuition or school fees at an accredited post-secondary institution and will be selected based on criteria relating to the program's three pillars: Perseverance, Aspiration, and Community-Mindedness.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,500.
