Number of Awards & Eligibility: One scholarship is awarded.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be of at least 25% Asian and/or Pacific Islander ethnicity.
  2. Must be a citizen, national or legal permanent resident of the U.S.
  3. Must also be either a high school senior or a college student currently enrolled fulltime at an accredited U.S. vocational, junior college, or four-year college/university.
  4. Must be a full- time, associate/bachelor/master degree seeking student by the upcoming academic calendar year and pursuing a major in the visual/performing arts (film, theatre, fashion, photography, graphic design, dance, music, journalism, mass communications, etc.).
  5. Must prove leadership abilities through participation in community service, extracurricular or other activities.
  6. Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (unweighted)

Description: The Artistic Scholarship is available for high school seniors or college students currently enrolled fulltime at an accredited U.S. vocational, junior college, or four-year college/university. Additional Information: The Against The Grain Artistic Scholarship provides financial assistance and promotion of Asian American college students pursuing a major in the performing, visual arts, journalism and/or mass communications. ATG believes in supporting future Asian American artists and leaders who are shining examples of what it means to Go Against the Grain. Each year, ATG proudly awards scholarships to a select group of amazing Asian American high school seniors, college undergraduate and graduate school students through the Against the Grain Artistic Scholarship.

Award Amount: The winner of the Artistic Scholarship will receive $1,000 to be applied toward school tuition and fees.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applicants must download the application from the provider website. Must provide transcripts showing a 3.0 GPA or higher, record of community service and leadership, heritage, a content submission (essay, artistic portfolio), transcripts and letters of recommendation. There is also an interview process.
