Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be officially enrolled in an aviation management program.
  4. Must enroll full time.
  5. Must be a current undergraduate college sophomore, junior or senior.
  6. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  7. Must attend a University Aviation Association (UAA) member school. A listing of eligible schools is available on the scholarship application.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: U.S. citizens and permanent residents who are current undergraduate college sophomores, juniors or seniors enrolled full time in an aviation management program at a University Aviation Association (UAA) member school are eligible for this award. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Additional Information: Conklin & de Decker, in coordination with the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA), established the Alan H. Conklin Business Aviation Management Scholarship in 2007 to benefit undergraduates pursuing careers in business aviation management.

Award Amount: $5,000 annually, non-renewable. Scholarships will be awarded for the 2017–2018 academic year, and checks will be made payable to the school. Scholarship recipients must use the funds by Oct. 31, 2018, or risk forfeit of the award.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $5,000.

Applications are available online from the National Business Aviation Association Inc. (NBAA) website. In addition to the completed and signed application, the student must submit a 500-word, typed, double-spaced essay describing his/her interest in and goals for a career in business aviation (the applicant's typed name must appear at the top of the page); an official transcript; a current one-page resume with permanent home address; and two letters of recommendation from those qualified to comment on his/her career aspirations and qualifications, especially as they relate to business aviation. One letter must be from a member of the aviation department faculty at the institution where he/she is currently enrolled.Applications and supporting materials must be submitted online by the deadline date.
