Fannie and John Hertz Foundation
Successful applicants have the choice of two fellowship options: the 'Five Year Hertz' program that offers a $32,000 nine-month personal stipend and full tuition equivalent that is renewable for up to five years; or the 'Five-Year Coordinated' program that offers a $38,000 nine-month personal stipend and full tuition equivalent for the first two years of fellowship and a $5,000 per year supplemental stipend from Hertz for the remaining three years. The 'Five-Year Coordinated' program requires the awardee to accept a three-year fellowship from another source. The 'Five-Year Hertz' program is renewable annually (upon a showing of satisfactory progress toward receipt of the Ph.D. degree) for a total fellowship tenure of no more than five years.
Between 15 and 20 students are awarded a Hertz Fellowship annually.
