In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be a college sophomore, junior, or senior, or a graduate student. The student must be in a position to accept the scholarship for the school year in which it is being awarded.
  3. Must major in engineering (any field) or computer science.
  4. Must be a female.
  5. Must be enrolled full time.
  6. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  7. Must be a member of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE). Please note: The student's level of involvement in SWE should be high, based on the amount of time spent volunteering, level of commitment, and years of service.
  8. Must attend a school within the SWE Region H boundaries: ND, SD, MN, IA, WI, IL, MI, IN.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is open to female college sophomores, juniors, and seniors, and graduate students who are majoring in engineering or computer science and have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Students must be members of SWE and attend a school within the SWE Region H boundaries.

Additional Information: Applicants may not be current recipients of a renewable SWE scholarship or receiving full funding for education from another organization (such as members of the armed services attending US military academies and students receiving full reimbursement from an employer.) The applicant must enroll or plan to enroll in an engineering program accredited by ABET. Accreditation status for degree programs at specific schools can be found at main.abet.org/aps/Accreditedprogramsearch.aspx.

Award Amount: One award of $1,500 for an undergraduate student; and one award of $1,750 annually, non-renewable for a graduate student.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,750.

Applications must be completed online at the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) website. The applicant should submit only one application; she will be considered for all scholarships for which she is eligible. In addition to completing the online application, the student must upload the following documents: current official transcripts from all schools attended; a letter of acceptance to an ABET-accredited college or university (if a transfer student or first-year graduate student); and a resume. The student must also submit email contact information for two letters of recommendation. One letter must be from a teacher or college professor in a STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) field who is familiar with the student's work. The other letter must be from a person who has known the student for two or more years and who is not a relative or member of the student's family. Recommenders will be sent information regarding submission of their letters; the letters are due approximately one week after the student's application deadline. The online application and all required supporting materials must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. CT on the deadline date.
