Number of Awards & Eligibility: Approximately five Association Scholarships provided annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. and international students.
  2. Must plan to study law.
  3. Must be a current undergraduate or law school student at time of application.

Description: This award is available for undergraduate students and students enrolled in law school. Selection for the award will be based primarily on a written submission of no more than one page setting out the applicant's financial need, any interests in particular areas of the law, and any qualifications for the award considered relevant by the applicant.

Application requirements for the FCBA Association Scholarships are:

  • Curriculum Vitae/Resume
  • Essay
Additional Information: The Association Scholarships include awards in honor of Douglas B. Henderson and William S. Bullinger, as well as other scholarships based primarily on need. Each scholarship in the Association’s Scholarship Series is contingent upon the availability of funds and other factors. Depending on available funds and other factors, the Association may also consider awarding additional scholarships based primarily on need. Last year, the Association was able to award three of these scholarships in the amount of $5,000 each, and hopes to be able to be as generous this year. Selection for the award will be based primarily on a written submission; however, all of the submitted materials will be considered, and prior academic performance will not be the primary criteria for selection. Students must show financial need and demonstrated academic promise.

Award Amount: $5,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $6,875.

Application information is available on the Federal Circuit Bar Association (FCBA) website. Selection for the award will be based primarily on a written submission of no more than 450 words on one page setting out the applicant's financial need, any interests in particular areas of the law, and any qualifications for the award considered relevant by the applicant. The submission should also include all of the applicant's college and law school transcripts, and a one-page curriculum vitae. An applicant will be considered for all scholarships for which he/she is eligible. It is not necessary to submit more than one application. Submissions must be sent in PDF format via email by midnight EST April 15. Each submission should be identifid by 'FCBA Scholarship Submission' in the subject line.
