Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of recipients for this program varies according to the number of college students meeting the eligibility requirements in any given year.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be a full-time student.
  4. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  5. Must pursue an academic discipline leading to a career in international trade, business, law or a related international field. Acceptable majors include business administration with an international emphasis, economics or political science ( i.e., pursuing a law degree, with an international emphasis).
  6. Must attend an accredited Southern California institution.
  7. Must be enrolled as a college sophomore, junior or senior to apply for this undergraduate award.

Additional Information: Women in International Trade Los Angeles, (WIT-LA), is a California non-profit organization founded in 1985 by professional women in international trade. The Gladys A. Moreau fund was established to encourage women and men to pursue an education in an international field. Close consideration for this award will be given to students who can demonstrate leadership qualities as defined by a record of involvement and participation in extra curricular activities on their college campuses and/or in civic activities in their local communities. The winner will be chosen by the WIT-LA scholarship committee and awarded in December as part of WIT-LA's World Trade Week. The award will be made directly to the recipient, who will be expected to apply the funds toward educational related expenses, for example, tuition, books, study abroad program or international trade related seminars/workshops.

Award Amount: $1,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,500.

To receive an updated application, eligible students must contact the Women in International Trade Los Angeles (WIT-LA) using the information provided at the website. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit a personal essay as specified on the application, two letters of recommendation, and a copy of the his/her unofficial transcripts. The application and all supporting materials must be submitted to the address provided, postmarked by the deadline date.
