Number of Awards & Eligibility: One scholarship is awarded.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be female.
  2. Must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0.
  3. Must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident with a permanent resident ID card.
  4. Must be an undergraduate or graduate student at the time of application.
  5. Must be pursuing a major related to cybersecurity or a related technology field.

Description: The Women in Cybersecurity Scholarship is provided by ESET and is available for women who are pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in cybersecurity or a related technology field. Applicants must enrolled in or accepted to an accredited undergraduate or graduate program in the U.S. a 3.0 GPA, or higher.

Additional Information: Eset develops IT security software and services for businesses and consumers worldwide. They launched the scholarship program in 2016. The goal is and was to help and support women who aspire to a career in information security. Applicants must be a female enrolled in or accepted to an accredited undergraduate or graduate program in the United States with at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA. In 2018, applicants were asked to complete a two-part essay and include a letter of recommendation. Judging was conducted by the ESET Scholarship Selection Committee.

Award Amount: ESET will award a $5,000 scholarship to a woman who is pursuing a college-level degree and aspires to have a career in cybersecurity. The $5,000 award will be dispersed over the course of 2-years, with $2,500 the first year and $2,500 the second.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $5,000.

Applicants must download an application from the provider website. A complete form includes several attached documents. Finalists must participate in a phone interview to be considered for the award. These are answers to prompted essay questions, a copy of an unofficial transcript or acceptance letter as proof of enrollment and one letter of recommendation.
