In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must have at least one parent who is a classroom teacher.
  2. Must express an interest in art.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  5. Must be a high school senior at the time of application.
  6. This award is for U.S. students.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for high school seniors in Pinellas County, Florida who demonstrate an interest in art. Applicants must be the son or daughter of a classroom teacher, and must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Additional Information: Provided in memory of John Allen And John Blank, this scholarship is awarded each year to a Pinellas County high school senior who is the child of a classroom teacher. Applicants must demonstrate an interest in art and a strong academic record. Financial need will also be considered in award selection.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, npn-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications and information about this award are available online at the Pinellas Education Foundation website using the link provided. To be considered for this award, students must complete an online application form consisting of 12 steps. Completed applications will include information about the following items: the student's academic record; participation in community, service, and extracurricular activities; financial need as detailed in the Student Aid Report obtained by filing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA); information about subjects the student is interested in through a list of prospective majors; as well as the names of any colleges or universities the student has applied to or been accepted to. The student's academic information may be sent directly from his/her high school. The Student Aid Report (SAR) is obtained by filing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. All applications must be completed online by the deadline date.
