Number of Awards & Eligibility: Varies.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must apply by his/her senior year for admission for the following fall semester.
  3. Must attend the University of Richmond.
  4. Must demonstrate extraordinary academic and artistic talent.
  5. Must plan to major or minor in the visual or performing arts.
  6. Must attend a college or university in Virginia.

Description: This scholarship is available for U.S. and international high school seniors who plan to attend the University of Richmond. Students must display extraordinary artistic talent and plan to major or minor in the visual or performing arts.

Application requirements for the UR Richmond Scholars Program – Artist Scholars are:

  • Application form
  • Recommendation letter
  • Official Transcript
  • $50 app. fee
  • Test scores
  • Proof of talent
  • Interview (finalists only)
Additional Information: Students who are selected to advance to the semifinalist round will be notified by email and postal mail. Semifinalists will be asked to submit additional information to the committee in order to advance to the finalist round. Finalists will be notified by email and postal mail in order to make arrangements for an expense-paid campus visit for the required scholarship interview. The interview is typically held in mid-March. Finalists automatically qualify for a Presidential Scholarship, which is accompanied by $15,000 annually, for four years.

Award Amount: Full-tuition, room and board scholarship, renewable for up to eight consecutive semesters of full-time enrollment, valued at approximately $259,920 over four years. Eligibility for a one-time $3,000 grant to support a student-selected activity that enhances the academic experience.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $259,920.
