Number of Awards & Eligibility: Up to 10 awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be a permanent resident of Maryland.
  4. Must be a college graduate or current college senior planning to receive a degree in one of the following areas: liberal arts, sciences or mathematics.
  5. Must plan to enroll in a master's program in teacher education in the fall.
  6. Must take a minimum of six credits per semester.
  7. Must be a graduate student to apply for this award.
  8. Must have a maximum family income of $90,000.
  9. Must have a grade point average of 2.0 or higher.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available for permanent residents of Maryland with an interest in a teaching career. Candidates must have an undergraduate degree in the liberal arts, sciences or mathematics and be pursuing a master's degree in education.

Additional Information: The mission of providing access to college education is the cornerstone of CSB's philosophy. At CSB, students can find the money they need for college and keep their debt to a minimum. The purpose of this fund is to provde financial assistance to qualified candidates planning to teach in the public school system. Scholarship recipients are selected based on financial need, teamwork/community service, and academic achievement. *Please note: Candidates must have an undergraduate degree in the liberal arts, sciences or mathematics AND plan to pursue a master's degree in education. The applicant must demonstrate financial need.

Award Amount: Up to $2,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,500.

Applications are available on the Central Scholarship Bureau (CSB) website or by contacting the CSB office at the number provided. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit the following materials: an official transcript; a copy of his/her current Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Student Aid Report (SAR); a letter of recommendation from a professor; and an essay of 500 words or less addressing the topic listed on the application. The SAR is sent to students once their FAFSA has been processed. Students must file the FAFSA by the deadline date. The FAFSA is available online, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. All completed applications and supporting materials must be completed online by the deadline date.
