  1. Must be a member in good standing of PDK International.
  2. Must be a doctoral student.
  3. Must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.

Additional Information: Larry E. Frase Memorial Scholarship for Educational Research honors the San Diego State University emeritus professor whose research focused on human motivational factors in educational organizations. Dr. Frase’s life of service to education has been commemorated with this scholarship fund for worthy doctoral students studying motivational factors of teachers and educational leaders.

Award Amount: $1000, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

The Larry E. Frase Scholarship is for doctoral students studying motivational factors of teachers and educational leaders. Applications are available online on the Phi Delta Kappa (PDK) International website. Students may also obtain an application by contacting a PDK chapter or by sending an SASE to the address provided. Applicants must submit all of the following: an application form; transcripts documenting a grade point average in the top 15%; three letters of recommendation – one from the applicant’s major professor, one from a professional colleague or peer, and one from a supervisor who currently supervises (or most recently has supervised) the applicant’s professional work. Also, applicants must provide evidence of professional activities that have resulted in improving an sustaining academic performance for all students. Completed applications and all supporting documentation must be submitted through the online application portal by the deadline date.
