In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be in a program leading to an advanced degree in nuclear science, nuclear engineering or a nuclear-related field.
  3. Must be a full-time student.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident.
  5. Must enroll in a graduate program.
  6. Must be a student member of the American Nuclear Society (ANS).

Description: This scholarship is available for U.S. graduate students who are enrolled in a program leading to an advanced degree in nuclear science, nuclear engineering or a nuclear-related field.

  • Sponsorship letter
  • Reference letters
Additional Information: In addition to the Graduate Scholarship, the named scholarships included in the ANS Graduate Scholarship Program are the following: the Robert A. Dannels Scholarship, the Verne R. Dapp Scholarship (odd years only), the Walter Meyer Scholarship (even years only), the Everitt P. Blizard Scholarship, the Allan F. Henry/Paul A. Greebler Scholarship, the Saul Levine Scholarship, the John Randall Scholarship, the James F. Schumar Scholarship, the James R. Vogt Radiochemistry Scholarship, the Decommissioning, Decontamination and Reutilization Scholarship, the Robert E. Uhrig Scholarship, the Pittsburgh Local Section Scholarship, and the Nuclear Criticality Safety Pioneers Scholarship (NCSD).

Award Amount: $3,000 - $5,000 scholarships (expected for graduate programs).  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $10,000.
