Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must have a grade point average of 2.0 or higher.
  3. Must enroll full time.
  4. Must be a current undergraduate student who has completed one or more terms at time of application.
  5. Must attend Ohio State University.
  6. Must be currently enrolled in an engineering or engineering technology curriculum which has been accredited by the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology and have an interest in railway engineering.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: Engineering students who have completed one or more terms at Ohio State University are eligible for this award. Students must have a grade point average of 2.0 or higher and have an interest in railway engineering.

Additional Information: The AREMA Educational Foundation provides scholarships to engineering students who are specializing in the railway industry and supports other educational and training endeavors that help to ensure the future of the profession.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications are available on the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance of Way Association (AREMA) website. The applicant must submit one application to be considered for all AREMA scholarships. In addition to a completed application, the applicant must also submit the following: a resume containing personal data, work experience, education information and any other information the applicant feels is appropriate; an official transcript; two letters of recommendation (one must be from a faculty member, and the other may be from another faculty member, present or former employer, AREMA member, or other responsible person); and a cover letter, not exceeding 350 words, giving reasons why he/she is deserving of an AREMA Scholarship. All applications and supporting documents must be submitted online by the deadline date.
