Number of Awards & Eligibility: Three awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must reside in one of the following North or South Carolina counties: Cabarrus, Catawba, Chester, Cleveland, Gaston, Iredell, Lancaster, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Rowan, Union or York County.
  2. Must be a high school senior at the time of application.
  3. Must be planning to major in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
  4. Must have a grade point average of 3.3 or higher.
  5. Must have a combined SAT score of 1600 (out of 2400) or an ACT score of 26.
  6. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  7. This award is for U.S. students.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This Charlotte Knights STEM Scholarship is available for high school seniors in the following North or South Carolina counties: Cabarrus, Catawba, Chester, Cleveland, Gaston, Iredell, Lancaster, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Rowan, Union or York County. Applicants must have an ACT score of 26 or higher, an SAT score of 1200 or higher, and a grade point average of 3.3 or higher. Participation in sports or other community service activities will also be a factor during scholarship selection.

Additional Information: The Charlotte Knights, with the support of Piedmont Gas, are providing this scholarship to local high school seniors who demonstrate high academic achievement and an intent to pursue a higher education in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics. Applicants should demonstrate community service and involvement through participation in at least one team sport, social group, or other community organization.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications and information about this award can be found online at the Charlotte Knights website. To apply for this award, students must submit a completed application form as well as the following documents: a copy or official transcript of all high school coursework completed; SAT and/or ACT score reports; a recommendation letter; and proof of acceptance to an accredited two- or four-year college or university. All applications and supporting materials must be submitted by email to [email protected] or postal mail to the provided street address, no later than the deadline date.
