Number of Awards & Eligibility: Three award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be a college junior or older to apply for this undergraduate and/or graduate award.
  3. Must major in a field of study that is related to asphalt paving technology such as civil engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, or other related programs of study. Preference will be given to applicants with experience and interest in the field of asphalt paving technology.

Additional Information: The scholarship is named in honor of Dr. David R. Jones IV, who served in a variety of capacities throughout his career in the asphalt industry.

Award Amount: $2,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.

Applications are available online from the Association of Modified Asphalt Producers (AMAP) website. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit two letters of recommendation from faculty and/or asphalt contractors or technologists; transcripts; awards; school activities; an essay of no more than 500 words on activities and/or his/her interest in asphalt technology; and details of any work experience relative to the highway industry. Applications must be submitted through the online form and supporting materials must be emailed and received by 5 p.m. on the deadline date.
