Number of Awards & Eligibility: One scholarship will be provided each year the program is available.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a graduating high school senior.
  2. Must reside in and attend a high school in Holyoke, MA.
  3. Must plan to major in civil engineering or a related field.

Description: The Edward J. Bayon Memorial Scholarship Fund is available for graduating high school seniors in Holyoke, MA who are majoring in civil engineering.

Additional Information: The Edward J. Bayon Memorial Scholarship Fund is provided annually to graduating high school seniors at high schools in Holyoke, Massachusetts. Applicants must be majoring in civil engineering or a related field of study. Awards are administered through the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts. The Community Foundation administers more than 600 charitable accounts including more than 130 scholarships. Students who apply for one of these scholarships will be considered for all of the awards they are eligible for. Multiple applications are not required.

Award Amount: Scholarships are typically awarded in the amount of $1,000 and are non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications for the Edward J. Bayon Memorial Scholarship Fund are available and accepted between January 1 and March 31. To apply for this scholarship, students must complete the online application at the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts website. Completed application forms will also require students to submit a recent copy of transcripts as well as their current year Student Aid Report. The Student Aid report is obtained when the student completes the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). All applications must be submitted online no later than the deadline date.
