Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards provided annually varies depending on the number of company-named scholarships are sponsored.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

  2. Must be accepted to or currently enrolled in a research-focused graduate program at the time of application.
  3. Must be a woman or ethnic minority.
  4. Must be majoring in microelectronics or semiconductor research.

Additional Information: The Master's Scholarship Program was created in 1997 for the purpose of attracting qualified students who are also in underrepresented minority categories to graduate study in areas of interest to the semiconductor industry. In 1999, the program was opened to women as a category and has since been opened to underrepresented students holding refugee or political asylum status in the U.S.

Award Amount: This scholarship pays for full tuition and fees for up to two years of graduate-level education, as well as $2,000 annually for spending and miscellaneous expenses.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $20,000.

Information and instructions for obtaining an application are available on the Semiconductor Research Corporation website at the address provided. Scholarship applications are typically available in early November. In addition to the completed online scholarship application, students must submit the following documents: an updated copy of his/her resume; a letter of recommendation from a faculty advisor; two other reference letters from professionals in the field who are familiar with the applicant's work; and official transcripts for all undergraduate and graduate work completed. All applications must be completed online by the deadline date. Letters of recommendation and transcripts may be sent to the mailing address provided, and must also be received by the deadline date. Late and incomplete applications will not be accepted.
