Number of Awards & Eligibility: Up to 10 awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must enroll in a mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, or related baccalaureate program in the United States.
  4. Must enroll full time.
  5. Must be a college undergraduate student (freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior) in the upcoming academic year.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is for U.S. citizens who will be undergraduates enrolled full time in an ABET-accredited or substantially equivalent mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology or related baccalaureate program in the United States in the upcoming academic year. Students must demonstrate scholastic ability and financial need.

Additional Information: Through the generosity of John W. Gracik, Life Member of ASME, a scholarship fund was established in 1992 in honor of his parents, John and Elsa. Applicants must be enrolled in an ABET-accredited school for the upcoming academic year. Information regarding accreditation status is available online at main.abet.org/aps/Accreditedprogramsearch.aspx. The award recipient will be selected on the basis of scholastic ability, demonstrated financial need, character, leadership, and potential contribution to the mechanical engineering profession. All applicants will be notified of the scholarship results between June 15 and July 1. Scholarship money will be sent to scholarship winners by the end of August.

Award Amount: $2,500 annually, non-renewable.Scholarship awardees from past years will not be selected to receive additional scholarships. Students must apply again each year.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $25,000.
