Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be enrolled in a chemical engineering program at an ABET- accredited school in the United States, Canada or Mexico.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  4. Must be in his/her junior or senior year of a four-year program or the equivalent for a five-year co-op program.
  5. Must be a national student member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE).

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: College juniors or seniors who are currently enrolled in a chemical engineering program and have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher are eligible for this award. Students must be nominated for this award.

Additional Information: It is preferred/strongly encouraged that the applicant show leadership or activity in either the school's AIChE Student Chapter or other university-sponsored campus activities. Preference will be given to Mexican universities participating in ABET's Equivalent Education Program. The scholarship will be formally presented during the student brunch at the annual student conference.

Award Amount: $5,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $5,000.

Application forms are available online from the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) website. Nomination forms will also be mailed to student chapter advisors in February. Forms may also be obtained by contacting the AIChE Awards Administrator using the contact information provided. Only one nomination per student chapter will be accepted each year. In addition to the completed application, each student must submit his/her most recent and official transcript; an essay of no more than three typed pages (double-spaced) outlining his/her career goals in the chemical engineering process industries; a separate listing describing his/her leadership activities; and two letters of recommendation (in English). One nomination letter must be from the AIChE student chapter advisor. The second letter must be from either a departmental faculty member or a technical work supervisor (internship or REU supervisor). Applications must be completed online, and official transcripts must be mailed to the address provided above.
