Description: Junior, senior, fifth-year undergraduate engineering students at George R. Brown School of Engineering at Rice University are eligible for awards ranging from $2K-$4k. Applicants must show an involvement in performing, visual or written arts.

Application requirements for the Phil Layton Award of Excellence in the Arts are:

Additional Information: The Phil Layton Award of Excellence in the Arts provides stipends to undergraduate students in the George R. Brown School of Engineering who are in their junior, senior, or fifth year and have proven involvement in the performing, visual, or written arts at Rice and/or in the Houston community. Preferred applicants have pursued community-based commitments through their art.

Award Amount: Awards ranging from $2,000-$4,000.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $8,000.
