Number of Awards & Eligibility: Three awards offered annually, one to a building construction management student and one to a civil engineering student.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must meet admission requirements and be accepted to the University of North Florida.
  4. Must be a rising college junior or senior.
  5. Must have earned a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  6. Must be a declared major in building construction management or civil engineering.
  7. Must plan to enroll full time (12 or more credit hours) each semester and earn a minimum of 24 credit hours by the end of each academic year.

Description: This scholarship is available for rising juniors and seniors at the University of North Florida who are majoring in building construction management or civil engineering. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Additional Information: UNF's Department of Construction Management is proud to offer this scholarship sponsored by Miller Electric Company. Miller Electric Company has been in business in Northeast Florida for 80 years. Miller Electric provides services in the areas of commercial, industrial and institutional electrical services, telecommunications, transportation, and so much more. Scholarship recipients must: maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or higher; remain in good standing as a student; comply with all University regulations, rules, and codes of conduct governing students on campus; and consent to release grades to the Division of Institutional Advancement for the purpose of reporting to the donor.

Award Amount: $3,000 annually, renewable. Current recipients may apply for renewal and will be given preference pending availability of funding and if the applicant continues to meet all selection criteria and responsibilities. No student will be eligible to receive more than four semesters of scholarship support. The amount of the award will be determined by the fund manager, but it cannot exceed the maximum cost of tuition, books, campus housing, meal plan, transportation and miscellaneous expenses, as reflected in the annual "Cost of Education" budget prepared by the UNF Financial Aid Office.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $9,000.

Applications are available online on the University of North Florida (UNF) College of Computing, Engineering & Construction (CCEC) website. As part of the online application, the student must submit short essay answers (300 characters or less) describing his/her career interests, extracurricular activities, and work experience. The scholarship application must be completed online and submitted by the deadline date. Only electronic applications will be considered.
