Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be attending a college or university in California, Hawaii, or Nevada.
  3. Must be enrolled in a mechanical engineering baccalaureate program. Please note: The student must demonstrate a special interest in product development and design.
  4. Must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.
  5. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  6. Must enroll full time.
  7. Must be a college sophomore, junior, or senior in the upcoming academic year.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: Rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors enrolled full time in an ABET-accredited mechanical engineering program in California, Hawaii, or Nevada are eligible for this award. Students must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher and a special interest in product development and design.

Additional Information: Applicants must be enrolled in an ABET-accredited school for the upcoming academic year. Information regarding accreditation status is available online at main.abet.org/aps/Accreditedprogramsearch.aspx. The award recipient will be selected on the basis of scholastic ability, demonstrated interest in product development and design, and financial need. All applicants will be notified of the scholarship results between June 15 and July 1. Scholarship money will be sent to scholarship winners by the end of August.

Award Amount: $3,000 annually, non-renewable.Scholarship awardees from past years will not be selected to receive additional scholarships. Students must apply again each year.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $3,000.
