Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  2. This award is for U.S. students.
  3. Must have completed at least one year of undergraduate study at the time of application.
  4. Must have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
  5. Must be majoring in paper and wood pulp technology.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: William L. Cullison was an extraordinary industry leader. This scholarship is available for U.S. undergraduate students who have completed at least one year of study in a field related to paper and pulp sciences. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher in the pulp, paper, corrugated and converting industries.

Additional Information: This scholarship is provided annually in honor of William L. Cullison, a distinguished leader in the field of pulp and paper sciences. The objectives of the scholarship are the following: to further the application of science, engineering, and technology in the pulp, paper, packaging, converting, and allied industries; to promote research and education in fields of interest to its members; and to promote the professional development of association members and other technical personnel.

Award Amount: $4,000 annually, renewable for up to one additional year so long as the student maintains a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $8,000.

Applications are available on the Technical Association for the Pulp, Paper, and Converting Industry (TAPPI) website using the link provided. In addition to a completed application and the general information form, the student must submit a completed Finishing & Converting Scholarship application form, an official transcript of the applicant's grades, a letter of recommendation from a faculty member, and at least two additional letters of recommendation from other professionals who are familiar with the applicant's character, interest in the pulp and paper industry, educational accomplishments, school activities and leadership roles. All scholarship application forms and supporting documents must be received by the deadline date.
