Number of Awards & Eligibility: Five scholarships will be awarded.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  2. Must identify as a woman.
  3. Must be planning to attend school full time.
  4. Must be majoring in engineering, technology or computing.

Description: The Society of Women Engineers is a member agency whose mission is to empower women within the engineering industry. One way they do this is through scholarship programs. Xilinx Empowering Women in Technology Scholarships tend to go to five candidates from under-represented groups. Global location based on home and collegiate address with exception of Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, and Syria. You must also identify as a female/woman, be a sophomore or junior majoring in CprE, CS, EE, ET, IE, ME and have at least a 3.0 GPA.

Application requirements for the Xilinx Empowering Women in Technology Scholarship are:

  • Recommendation letter
  • Application form
  • Personal statement
  • Official Transcript
Additional Information: Preference for these scholarships is given to candidates from under-represented groups. Global location based on home and collegiate address with exception of Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, and Syria. Minimum GPA: 3.0. You must also identify as a female/woman. You must also be a sophomore or junior majoring in CprE, CS, EE, ET, IE, ME • Undergraduate/community college applicants must be planning to study an ABET-accredited program in engineering, technology, or computing in the upcoming academic year. • You must be planning to attend full time (exceptions are made for reentry and non-traditional applicants). • You must not be fully funded for tuition, fees, and books or equivalent. • Transcripts must be in English

Award Amount: Five scholarships of $5,000 each will be given.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $25,000.
