Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must attend the University of Central Oklahoma.
  2. Must be majoring in literature or English.
  3. Must be an undergraduate student at the time of application.
  4. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher (3.5 in English courses).
  5. This award is for U.S. students.

Description: The Dr. Claude Arnold Scholarship Award is available for students at the University of Central Oklahoma who are majoring in Classical Literature or English. Additional preference will be given to students focusing on Old English as well as Medieval and Renaissance literature.

Additional Information: Founded in 1969, the Oklahoma City Community Foundation provides and administers more than 200 scholarships designed to assist local area students with the high and rising costs of a college education. Scholarships will be awarded based on a combination of merit, financial need, and other criteria as it applies to the specific award. The Dr. Claude Arnold Scholarship Award was established in 2006 by Dr. Arnold's father, Dr. Mark Allen Everett. The purpose of this scholarship is to honor Dr. Claude Arnold's memory and to encourage a student who demonstrates classroom participation with a strong potential for future research.

Award Amount: $3,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $3,000.
