Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a resident of Aquidneck Island, Rhode Island.
  3. Must be majoring in art or music.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  5. Must be enrolled as a sophomore, junior, or senior in a four-year accredited institution of higher learning.

Description: This scholarship was designed to support a deserving art or music major who is a resident of Aquidneck Island, Rhode Island. The applicant must be enrolled as a sophomore, junior, or senior in an accredited four-year postsecondary institution.

Additional Information: The Constant Memorial Fund was established in January 2000 to provide scholarship support to a deserving art or music major.

Award Amount: $2,000 to $5,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $3,500.

Applications are available on the Rhode Island Foundation website. The student must click on the "Scholarship/Fellowship Opportunities" link and then search for his/her desired scholarship to access the application. As part of the online application, the student must upload the following required documents: a completed 'Financial Information Worksheet' (accessible for download in the application); a copy of his/her SAR (Student Aid Report), which is generated after filing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid); the most recent version of his/her student transcript (unofficial accepted); an essay of 300 words or less on the topic listed on the application; and samples of his/her artistic or musical work. Detailed instructions for the work samples are available in the application. Documents must be in Word, Excel, or PDF formats (except for music samples, which should be on CD and may be mailed). File names should describe the attachment. Applications must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. EST on the deadline date.
