Number of Awards & Eligibility: Two awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a high school senior at the time of application.
  2. Must intend to pursue a baccalaureate degree in communication with an emphasis on any aspect of the television industry.
  3. Must be a legal resident of the U.S.
  4. This award is for U.S. students.
  5. Must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is for graduating U.S. high school seniors who intend to major in a communications-related degree at a four-year college or university. Applicants must hold a 2.5 GPA or higher and be legal residents of the United States. Click here to learn more and apply today!

Additional Information: This scholarship, which honors the legendary sportscaster and journalists Jim McKay and Mike Wallace, will be awarded to a college-bound applicant who has demonstrated exceptional talent as a creator of video programming as well as outstanding academic achievement and potential for success in a highly competitive profession. Please note that College Board scores (ACT or SAT) are required if a student is selected as a semi-finalist. Funds for this Scholarship have been provided, in equal parts, by the following five networks: ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, and HBO.

Award Amount: $10,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $10,000.

Applications are available online from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) website. The online application form will require students to submit the following information: personal contact information; grades and standardized test scores; two essays as described at the NATAS website; as well as an example of a recent work and/or information about work experience and school activities. All applications must be completed online by the deadline date.
