Number of Awards & Eligibility: Please note: The number of recipients for this program varies according to the number of college students meeting the eligibility requirements in any given year. Last year, 14 awards were given.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must major in television and film.
  3. Must be a full-time student.
  4. Must be a college sophomore or junior during the application period.

Description: The Charles & Lucille King Family Foundation is offering a scholarship to college juniors and seniors who are majoring in television or film. Additional Information: The Charles & Lucille King Family Foundation was established to provide scholarships to outstanding U.S. college and university undergraduate students in four-year, degree-granting programs in television and film. Applicants must demonstrate academic ability, financial need and professional potential.

Award Amount: $3,500 annually, renewable for one year. To automatically receive a renewal scholarship, the recipient must maintain a 'B' grade point average or higher and verify their grade point average by providing the foundation office with an official transcript by no later than June 30.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $7,000.

Applications are available on the Charles & Lucille King Family Foundation website between Sept. 1 and April 1. In addition to the application (which includes the applicant's financial information), the applicant must submit an official copy of his/her most recent transcript, three letters of recommendation/support, and a typed personal statement of two pages or less. At least one of the letters of recommendation must be from an academic adviser, major professor or other school official. The personal statement should describe the student's goals and why he/she feels that furthering his/her education will help accomplish these goals. All application materials must arrive on or before April 15 to be eligible for consideration.
