Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a resident of Texas.
  3. Must attend a college or university in Texas.
  4. Must major in radio, television, film, broadcast journalism, or another related field.
  5. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  6. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  7. Must be a full-time student.
  8. Must be a graduate or undergraduate student with at least two semester of academic study remaining or plans to continue education after graduation.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available to Texas students who are majoring in radio, television, film, or broadcast journalism. Additional Information: The Lone Star Chapter of the National Television Academy offers scholarships for college students pursuing a career in the television industry. Selection for this scholarship is based primarily on the sample work provided, as well as references from individuals familiar with the applicant's work experience. Awards will be announced in late summer. Each selected scholarship recipient will have the scholarship credited to his/her respective university account, payable in equal installments for the fall and spring semesters.

Award Amount: Up to $10,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $10,000.

Applications are available on the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Lone Star Chapter website. In addition to the completed application form, the applicant must also submit the following documents: two letters of recommendation from a faculty member, employer or an internship supervisor; a copy of his/her transcripts; samples of work as described on the application; and an essay of no more than three pages addressing the topics listed on the application. The application and all supporting materials must be submitted by the deadline to be eligible for consideration.
