Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a member of the Public Relations Student Society of America.
  3. Must major in public relations.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  5. Must be currently enrolled in a college or university to apply for this undergraduate and graduate award. Please note: Preference will be given to undergraduate students.

Description: U.S. students currently enrolled in a public relations undergraduate or graduate degree program are eligible for this award. Students must be members of the Public Relations Student Society of America, and preference will be given to undergraduate students.

Application requirements for the Daniel J. Edelman/PRSSA Award are:

  • Application form
  • Recommendation letter
  • Work samples
  • Three-ring binder
Additional Information: Students competing for the Daniel J. Edelman Award will be judged on leadership, public relations-related achievements and activities, and recommendations from faculty members and/or industry professionals. In addition to the scholarship, the applicant is offered a three-month paid internship in one of Edelman's U.S. offices (to be determined by Edelman and winner).

Award Amount: $1,500 annually, non-renewable. In addition, the winner will receive a three-month paid internship in one of Edelman's U.S. offices.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,500.

Applications are available on the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) website. In addition to a completed application, the applicant must submit the following materials: two or fewer letters of recommendation and ten or fewer samples of individual public relations work. He/she should submit the application and supporting materials in a one-inch, three-ring binder to the address provided. The completed application must be submitted online by the deadline date.
