Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This awar dis for U.S. students.
  2. Must pursue a career in media production.
  3. Must attend a college or university in one of the following areas: Northern California (Visalia to the Oregon border); Hawaii; or Reno, Nevada.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  5. Must have completed at least one undergraduate academic year of television studies. The applicant must also have at least one year remaining of undergraduate study.

Students must pursue a career in media production, with one or more years of school left to complete.

Additional Information: The NATAS San Francisco/Northern California Chapter awards scholarships to encourage individuals who demonstrate leadership and talent in advancing the artistic, cultural, educational, and technical qualities of television. The applicant must have one year or more left of school.

Award Amount: $2,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.

Applications and additional information are available online. In addition to the application, applicants must submit: a recommendation letter from the dean or professor as well as the names of two faculty contacts; a one-page essay summarizing your television academic and work experience, related activities and personal goals; a copy of transcripts; and uploaded video samples of your work (10 minutes maximum) accompanied by scripts and a one page letter detailing the stories, whether they aired on a campus or other broadcast, and why they were chosen for submission. All application materials must be emailed to the address provided, and must be received by the deadline date. Videos must be submitted through the submission for at the application link provided.
