Number of Awards & Eligibility: One scholarship is awarded.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher, and be in good academic standing at their current school.
  2. Must be current high school senior, college student or graduate student.
  3. Must be a legal resident of the United States.
  4. Must be enrolled in a two to a five-year post-secondary institution for the 2021 fall semester.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: The scholarship is open to any current high school senior, college student or graduate student who is a legal resident of the United States and who is enrolled in a two to five year post-secondary institution for the 2021 fall semester. Employees of Yates and Wheland, their immediate families, and persons living in the same households of such individuals (whether related or not), are not eligible to apply for the scholarship. Candidates for this scholarship should have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher, and be in good academic standing at their current school.

Application requirements for the Family Adversity Scholarship are:

Additional Information: Applicants must submit a 750-word response to the prompt: Discuss a time in your life when you and your family had to work through a tough scenario and how did that make an impact on your life going forward. What were you able to learn and how are you now able to help others going through similar situations? Applicants must submit a professional resumé with their essay that lists their academic, professional, and volunteer experience. Applicants must submit an official transcript from their current school. Transfer students or first-year students may submit an unofficial transcript from their current school, in addition to their most recent official transcript from their prior school.

Award Amount: The winner of the Family Adversity Scholarship will receive $1,000.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
