This scholarship is available for U.S. undergraduate students who are majoring in or planning to major in engineering, metallurgy, or materials science with plans to have a career in the iron and steel industry. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

This scholarship is available for U.S. college juniors who are studying metallurgy or materials science with plans for a career in the iron and steel industry, and have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Students must be eligible for employment at a steel company in the country in which they are attending school.

The Harlan and Rita Temple Endowed Scholarship is available for U.S. college sophomores and/or graduate students who are residents of South Dakota and who are currently attending a college/university in South Dakota.
