Delaware Higher Education Office
The award is given in the form of a forgivable loan. The loan cannot exceed the student's cost of tuition, mandatory fees, and other direct educational expenses. The loan is renewable for up to three additional years for undergraduate students and up to one additional year for graduate students. The loan will be forgiven at the rate of two years of qualifying employment for graduate students and one year of qualifying employment for undergraduate students for each year of loan. Qualifying employment is employment as a librarian or archivist in a public library, public school library, state agency, or political subdivision in Delaware.
The number of awards offered varies annually. In the 2012-2013 academic year (the most recent year for which information is available), there were 10 awards given. Please note that this program also provides awards to students pursuing master's degrees.
