Number of Awards & Eligibility: Up to six awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international students.
  2. Must be a member of the AIST Globe-Trotters Chapter.
  3. Must be an undergraduate student at the time of application.
  4. Must plan to pursue a career in the steel and iron industry.
  5. Must be majoring in engineering.

Description: This scholarship is available for international undergraduate students who are planning to major in engineering and pursue a career in iron and steel technology. Applicants must be AIST Globe-Trotters Chapter members or dependents of AIST Globe-Trotter Chapter members.

Additional Information: The AIST Globe-Trotters Member Chapter Scholarship award is intended to reward and attract talented and dedicated students and encourage them to pursue careers within the iron and steel industry. The AIST Globe-Trotters Member Chapter administers the scholarship. AIST Foundation Scholarship awards are intended to attract talented and dedicated students and to encourage them to pursue careers within the iron and steel industry. The AIST Foundation Board of Trustees administers the scholarships. Please note: Students must be AIST members or dependents of AIST members to apply for this award.

Award Amount: $2,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,500.

Applications are available online on the Association for Iron and Steel Technology (AIST) website. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit the following: a current resume with work experience and any extracurricular activities, noting any leadership positions; one essay of up to 300 words describing one of the topics on the application; a copy of SAT and/or ACT test score reports; and a current high school transcript. The application and all supporting materials must be submitted online and must be received no later than the deadline date.
