Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
  3. Must be a female.
  4. Must be a pilot.
  5. Must be pursuing a professional airline pilot career.
  6. Must be a full-time student.
  7. Must be a college junior or senior.
  8. Must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  9. Must be a member of Women in Aviation, International (WAI) by Nov. 1, and that membership must remain current through March. Please note: Both men and women are eligible to join WAI.

Description: The Alaska Airlines Women in Aviation Scholarship is open to U.S. female pilots who plan to pursue a professional airline pilot career. Students must be college juniors or senior who have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher to be considered for this award program.

Additional Information: The Alaska Airlines Women in Aviation Scholarship is provided annually for female students who are pursuing a career as a professional pilot. To be eligible, an applicant must be in her junior or senior year of undergraduate studies, and must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Candidates will be evaluated on volunteer work in the community, academic standing, teamwork, leadership skills, and airmanship. All scholarships, unless otherwise noted, will be awarded at the Annual International Women in Aviation Conference. Attendance at the conference is not required to receive a scholarship, but it is encouraged. Please note: Students may only receive one scholarship per year.

Award Amount: $2,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,500.
