$4,000 annually, non-renewable. Scholarship awardees from past years will not be selected to receive additional scholarships. Students must apply again each year.

To create an ongoing remembrance of the April 2007 tragedy at Virginia Tech, this endowed memorial scholarship was funded by gifts of all sizes from all parts of ASME, including the ASME Board of Governors, Divisions, Institutes, Sections, ASME members, staff, and friends. Applicants must have established a grade point average in their degree programs to qualify. If applicants have not established a grade point average at the college level, they are not eligible to apply. The award recipient will be selected on the basis of scholastic ability and potential contribution to the mechanical engineering profession. All applicants will be notified of the scholarship results between June 15 and July 1. Scholarship money will be sent to scholarship winners by the end of August.
